If you find yourself wandering the colorful streets of Santa Marta, make sure to carve out some time to experience iiwacoffee, a charming café that immerses you in the rich flavors and culture of Colombia. Nestled at Cra. 12 #22-90 in Comuna 4, this local gem is not just another coffee shop; it’s a sanctuary for coffee lovers and casual visitors alike.

What sets iiwacoffee apart? First and foremost, the locally sourced beans from the Sierra Nevada region provide an exceptional depth of flavor that keeps patrons coming back. As one enthusiastic customer, Mason, passionately declares, it's simply the "best coffee in Santa Marta and one of the best in Colombia!" The Americano here is a must-try—it’s intense, rich, and perfectly brewed to let the natural notes shine through.

The menu doesn't stop at coffee. Indulge in their exquisite cheesecake or delightful paninis, both highly recommended by regulars. Karina Vergara, another satisfied customer, raves about how their food offerings perfectly complement their coffee, making this café a one-stop destination for both caffeine and culinary delights. Imagine sinking your teeth into a creamy cheesecake after enjoying a beautifully complex cup of coffee; it’s an experience that lingers on the palate and in your memory.

However, while the quality of their coffee and food is undeniable, the ambiance is a bit modest. Reviewers have noted that the café doesn’t have much of a lounge vibe, which may steer some away, but for others, this is part of its unique charm. As Laura Hyde shares, venturing past the slightly dilapidated buildings leads you to this hidden treasure, making the journey all the more worthwhile. It’s about the love of great coffee and delicious treats in a cozy, no-frills setting.

In the heart of Santa Marta, iiwacoffee offers a local vibe that truly resonates with the essence of Colombian culture. The café does have other locations, including Estación San Pedro and a small station in Buenavista Mall, but don’t miss the opportunity to visit the original spot for an authentic experience. Your taste buds will thank you, and who knows—you might even walk away with a bag of their signature coffee to enjoy back home.

Whether you’re taking a break from sightseeing or need a cozy place to gather your thoughts, iiwacoffee delivers an unforgettable experience that warms both the heart and the soul.

So much flavor in their americano. Locally sourced from the Sierra Nevada of Colombia. I’m a huge fan. Best coffee in Santa Marta and one of the best in Colombia!

I never normally leave reviews but my bf is a coffee connoisseur and if you are looking for really good coffee AND cakes (usually it’s one or the other) this is definitely the place. It’s a walk away from the centre past somewhat derilicked buildings and in a complex next to a subway BUT it is a unique little gem - enjoy!

This places is very cozy and cool. It has a local vibe with arguably the best coffee of the region. Make it a must stop if you are coming throug Santa Marta. Ps: Their cheseecakes and Paninis are insane! I also bought a bag of coffee to take to NY with me. Also there is another one, near el parque de los novios, very near to the hostal I was staying at.

Best coffee shop in Santa Marta! Sadly they close their shop in the Historic District! So if you want to enjoy it you have to go to Estación San Pedro or to their small station on Buenavista Mall!

The cafe is cute and cozy. They make a proper espresso which is annoyingly difficult to find in Santa Marta. The deditos de quesos are some of the best I've tried and aren't too greasy, and are quite small so order a few if you're hungry.
